Vicki Acoba

Richard Barker

Richard is one of the owners of, and teaches at, The Red Kiln.  He makes beautiful functional works as well as decorative raku pieces.  See a few of Richard's pieces at http://www.clayartsutah.org/RichardBarker/ and http://www.clayartsutah.org/gallery/RichardBarker.html.

Willey Beers

The first thing you might notice at Willey's booth will be the chicken banks and the egg separators that smile at you.  Beyond that, there is an array of beautiful functional wares, from bowls and mugs, to an apple baker.  See his works at www.beerspottery.com.

Erik Brown

Erik is one of the few local masters of crystalline glazes.  These are transparent colorful glazes with large reflective crystals.  These glazes are difficult because they show any flaw in the form and they require specially controlled firing. 

Lara Carroll

Lara has specialized in miniatures.  Tiny vases and seed pots.  Lately she has branched out to sculptural forms, often depicting motherhood.   

Cynthia Xaiz Cool

Cynthia teaches pottery at The Petersen Art Center in Sugarhouse.  This is her second year at the sale.

Spencer Ennis

This is Spencer's first year at the sale.  He works at the Red Kiln studio and gallery.  He makes functional works with heavily carved surfaces. 

Joshua Flicker

This is Joshua's first year at this pottery sale, but he has sold at several other venues.  His works fall mainly into two categories;  An organic look created by carving through many layers of colored clays and an industrial look created by assembly of parts modeled after machinery.

Kevin Frazier

In addition to being a great potter, Kevin is a master of Raku firing.  Kevin takes his pots out of the kiln while they are glowing red and buries them in a combustible material.  The flame and smoke leave their traces on his vases and wall pieces.

Cheryl Glenn

Cheryl has been a long time board member of Clay Arts, Utah.  She is also a member of the Local Colors artist's co-op gallery.  Her pottery is functional with a look inspired by natural forms.

Jordan Harvey

Jordan is currently at the Petersen Art Center, but has worked at the Salt Lake Art Center and Circle Pottery.  She makes functional works that are "friendly."   

Johnny Hughes

Johnny, of Pollywog Pottery, is know for his pottery decorated with frogs.  Vases, bowls, teapots, all with frogs and a beautiful green glaze that looks like a copper patina.  Here is an image: http://www.flickr.com/photos/barraclough/174781584/.  He has also been making some beautiful large bowls with bright running glazes.

William James

Bill is the chair of this years Holiday Pottery Sale.  This year, he will be bringing his "Winter Lights" to the sale.  These are luminaires and lamps lit by color changins LEDs.  You can see more of his works at megamicrobe.commegamicrobe.etsy.com, and at Art at the Main in Salt Lake City.


Randi Lile
Randi is know for her toothsome fish wall hangings, raku cat sculptures, and her new series of guitar women and men sculptures.  She also makes beautiful and colorful functional pottery with hand carved designs.  Her works can be seen locally at several locations and at www.randilile.com.

Clark Marshall

Clark's works are inspired by the calligraphy of old handwritten texts.  He screen prints texts onto his thrown surfaces and decorates his work with metal salts to active soft pastel colors.  The result is a functional work that is also a work of art.

Sharon Brown Mikkelson

Sharon is a traditional potter who likes to incorporate images from nature that create rhythms, textures and movements across the surface of her pots.  As well as exhibiting at several galleries in the state, her works can be seen at www.cachevalleypottery.com/index.html

Heath Montgomery

Heath creates fun and unique works, from carved incense burners to gnome homes and bowls decorated with little skulls on the rim.  "I love to wheel throw and hand build a variety of forms and then add or toll all sorts of designs into my work."


Rita Osborne

Rita will be be enjoying her third year at the Pottery Sale.  She has been a middle school Art Teacher for the past 5 years and enjoys teaching the pottery class the most.  

Ani Ostendorff
Ani makes a variety of functional wares, including an all ceramic travel mug.

Chuck Parsons

Chuck throws beautiful elegant forms at the Red Kiln Gallery and Studios.  He will be teaching a class on teapots there in the spring.  You can see some of his works at www.clayartsutah.org/gallery/ChuckParsons.html

Tammy Rodeback

Tammy makes wonderful raku works as well as functional wares.  A returning potter, she has also sold her works at the Salt Lake Farmers Market and the Tooele Arts Festival.  

Rebecca Sabo
Rebecca throws shapes and often alters them on the wheel.  A mug may have a vertical spiral.  Unique and beautiful. 

Barbara Schaecher

Barbara makes functional ware is beautiful bright colors.  You may have seen her at the Salt Lake Farmer's market this past summer.  Some of her work can be seen at http://www.clayartsutah.org/gallery/BarbSchaecher.html.

Angie Schneider

Angie works in functional ware intended for frequent use and non-functional wall hangings.  She is motivated by a drive to create beautiful objects but also believes the dishes should be easy and pleasurable to use.

Jim Simister

Jim, of Sunstone Pottery in Coalville, is returning this year.  He brings a wide array of functional works in beautiful colors.  Always be on the lookout for new glazes.

Dave Socwell

Dave creates beautiful pottery with carved surfaces.  Last year he brought planters with trees sculpted into the surface.

Steve Stakland

Steve is another new potter to the sale this year.  He makes function works.

Suzanne Storer

Suzanne is a wonderful potter with functional and decorative works.  She has won awards at the Crested Butte Arts Festival and the St. George Arts Festival.  Some of her works have featured images from the petroglyphs of the South West.  See some of her works at http://www.clayartsutah.org/gallery/SuzanneStorer.html
